Boise School District's Dennis Technical Education Center students will receive hands-on training from an Idaho Army National Guard Medevac Helicopter that will land on the school campus next week.

The landing is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 9:00 a.m., on the field behind the DTEC Annex and Frank Church High School, 3608 S. Milwaukee Lane, Boise, 83709.

The demonstration is to support and educate students in Mr. Adam Ward’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) classes.

The students will be able to witness and participate in supplemental training for their Landing Zone Officer Certificate, which is a part of the curriculum that teaches students how and why helicopters are used for medical air transport.

The students will have the opportunity for hands-on instruction, discussion time with the pilot and onboard medics, inspect and view medical equipment, and have a presentation delivered by the military members onsite.
